IIT Goa’s 7th Convocation: 188 Graduates Charged to Solve Real-World Problems
PONDA: The Indian Institute of Technology Goa celebrated its 7th Convocation Ceremony at Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir on Sunday, marking another milestone for the young institute. A total of 188 students were conferred degrees across B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D programmes


The ceremony saw graduates in formal robes receiving their degrees amid cheers from families, faculty and peers, capping years of academic rigor and research. Speakers urged the graduating batch to use their technical training not just for careers, but to address challenges in sustainability, healthcare, AI and infrastructure — areas critical to Goa and the country.For many, it was the first convocation held with full campus participation since the institute moved to its permanent campus, adding significance to the day.
Faculty noted that this batch also included some of the institute’s early Ph.D scholars whose research is now feeding into industry collaborations and start-ups.The event concluded with the national anthem, as graduates took their first step as IIT Goa alumni.
