Candolim Gram Sabha Residents Oppose Section 39A; Sarpanch Announces Traffic Curbs & Cricket Ground Plan.
The Candolim Gram Sabha was held peacefully on Sunday with active participation from residents. During the GramSabha, members opposed Section 39A and appreciated the developmental work undertaken by the Candolim Village Panchayat.
Sarpanch Blaize Fernandes stated that a cricket ground is the need of the hour for Candolim. He said the Panchayat had wittten to MLA Lobo & through GSIDC granted permission for the project, with work expected to commence soon. Addressing traffic congestion, the Gram Sabha decided to restrict the movement of big buses, mini tankers and water tankers between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. These vehicles will be allowed to operate only after 10:00 p.m. to ease traffic flow. Sarpanch said the Gram Sabha concluded peacefully with constructive discussions and strong public participation.
