UP Police arrest 773 persons during week-long crackdown on cybercrime networks
LUCKNOW: (Jul 16) Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested 773 persons, registered 865 fresh FIRs and unearthed links in cyber fraud cases involving more than Rs 1,158 crore during a week-long statewide anti-cybercrime campaign, officials said on Thursday.
The special drive, ‘Cy-Vajra-1’, conducted from July 7 to July 13, has led to action against 17 illegal call centres, Director General of Police Rajeev Krishna said.
The week-long campaign was launched following directions from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for effective prevention of cyber crime and stringent action against cyber offenders, the DGP said.
