Union MoS Shripad Naik, MLA Krishna Salkar Participate in Lord Jagannath Ratha Yatra in Panaji
PANAJI: Union Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy, Shripad Naik, along with Vasco MLA Shri Krishna Daji Salkar, participated in the annual Lord Shree Jagannath Ratha Yatra held in the city on Thursday.
The yatra was organised by the Shree Jagannath Temple Trust Goa in association with the All Goa Odisha Association and saw the participation of hundreds of devotees. The chariot of Lord Jagannath, along with Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra, was pulled through the streets of Panaji amid devotional songs, bhajans and chants of “Jai Jagannath”.
Speaking on the occasion, Naik said such festivals reflect the unity, faith and cultural diversity of the country. He lauded the organisers for keeping the tradition alive in Goa and bringing communities together. Salkar also extended greetings to devotees and said the Ratha Yatra symbolises devotion and harmony.
