Drishti Marine Lifesavers Administer First Aid After Maharashtra Tourist Breaks Arm at Baga Beach

Panaji, July 14, 2026: Quick thinking and the fruits of rigorous training came to the fore at Baga beach, where Drishti Marine lifesavers promptly administered first aid, including applying a splint to stabilise the suspected fractured arm of a tourist from Maharashtra. Over the weekend, lifesavers also returned a lost iPhone to its rightful owner.

Baga beach: Drishti Marine lifesavers provided medical assistance to a 23-year-old tourist from Yavatmal, Maharashtra, after he sustained an injury while playing on the shore at Baga Beach. The tourist suffered a suspected fracture to his left arm following a fall. The on-duty team of lifesavers immediately administered first aid, including splinting and dressing the injured arm, while simultaneously alerting the 108 ambulance service. On arrival, the tourist was safely handed over to the medical team for further treatment. The rescue team comprised Supervisor Vinod Gaonkar and lifesavers Budhaji Gaonkar and Nand Kishor.

Palolem beach: Drishti Marine lifesavers helped reunite a tourist with a lost iPhone after it was recovered during routine beach patrolling. The tourist had earlier reported the phone missing. During the patrol, Lifesaver Captain Prashant Gaonkar located the device on the beach. After verifying the claimant’s details, the mobile phone was safely handed over to its owner after following due protocol.
