Kala Academy To Celebrate Golden Jubilee Of Konkani Drama Competition On July 10
Panaji: The Kala Academy Goa will celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the 50th Konkani Drama Competition on July 10, 2026 at 5:00 PM at Dinanath Mangeshkar Kala Mandir, Panaji.Addressing the media at Kala Academy, Panaji, Chairman Shri Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar said the milestone event will commemorate five decades of the state’s premier Konkani theatre platform that has nurtured generations of artistes, writers and directors.
Kavlekar said the Golden Jubilee programme aims to honor the legacy of Konkani drama and the contribution of theatre personalities who have kept the art form alive. The celebration will bring together veteran and young dramatists on a single platform.
He added that Kala Academy remains committed to promoting Konkani language and culture through theatre, and the competition has played a key role in giving Goan drama a distinct identity over the last 50 years.
