DITE&C reviews EMC progress, emphasises timely implementation by plot allottees
Altinho, July 2026: The Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (DITE&C) convened a review meeting with all stakeholders on July 6, 2026, to evaluate the progress of infrastructure development at the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) in Tuem. The meeting focused on engaging directly with plot allottees to get comprehensive status updates on the setting up of their respective industrial units.
The review aimed to assess project-wise progress, remove implementation bottlenecks and ensure that allotted plots are developed within committed timelines so that manufacturing operations can commence without delays, demonstrating the Department’s focus on accelerating the cluster’s growth while maintaining full readiness to support allottees in overcoming operational hurdles.
The review was conducted in the presence of Shri. Santosh Sukhadeve, IAS, Secretary IT; Shri. Kabir Shirgaonkar, Director, DITE&C; Shri. Praveen Volvotkar, MD, InfoTech Corporation of Goa Limited; Shri. Subrai Nadkarni, Chief Engineer, InfoTech Corporation of Goa Limited; Dr. Milind Sakhardande, Joint Director, DITE&C; Shri. Siddhart Borkar, Deputy Director, DITE&C; Smt. Eldrida Crasto, Asst Director, DITE&C; and other senior officials.
During the meeting, officials assessed individual project updates and reiterated the necessity of meeting established schedules, noting that the issuance of regulatory responses, such as show-cause notices, remains standard procedure for continued non-compliance.
Department officials also met with Shri. Pravin Parab, Additional Collector II, Office of Collector, North Goa; Deputy Collector, Pernem and Land Acquisition Officer along with representatives from the Public Works Department (PWD) and Electricity Department, to further accelerate development works and ensure government-led utilities remain fully aligned with the setups by private plot allottees.
Under the leadership Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant and Hon’ble ITE&C Minister, Shri. Rohan Khaunte, Goa is emerging as a premier technology and manufacturing destination. The EMC at Tuem is a key component of Goa’s strategy to attract electronics manufacturing, generate high-value employment and strengthen the State’s industrial ecosystem.
The Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (DITE&C) continues to closely monitor project implementation through regular reviews and inter-departmental coordination, ensuring that the EMC develops as a fully operational electronics manufacturing hub that delivers investment, employment and economic growth for Goa.
