Firefighters Avert Mishap as Uprooted Tree Threatens Karaswada House
MAPUSA: A major accident was averted on Wednesday when the Mapusa Fire Station removed an uprooted tree that was dangerously resting on a coconut tree and threatening to crash onto a house near Vrindavan Hospital, Indiranagar, Karaswada. The Fire Services received the alert at 11:18 hrs. A team led by Leading Firefighter Shri Suraj Shetgaonkar rushed to the spot and found the uprooted tree precariously leaning, with residents fearing damage to the house below. Fire personnel used cutting equipment and ropes to carefully dismantle and clear the tree, eliminating the risk. The operation was completed without injury or damage to property. Officials said swift action prevented what could have been a serious mishap in the residential area. The Mapusa Fire Station has appealed to residents to report leaning or uprooted trees, especially near homes and hospitals, to prevent accidents during the monsoon season.
