Calangute Panchayat Hosts ‘Village of the Future’ Workshop for Sustainable Development

CALANGUTE: The Calangute Panchayat Hall on Tuesday hosted the “Village of the Future – Net Positive Panchayat (NPP) Community Workshop”, bringing together stakeholders to chart a roadmap for a sustainable and resilient Calangute.

Addressing the gathering, local representatives shared inputs on making Calangute future-ready, with focus on identifying local priorities and practical solutions that directly benefit the community. The workshop, part of the Net Positive Panchayat initiative, saw discussions on resource management, climate resilience, and community-driven development models. “It was a privilege to be part of meaningful discussions that will help transform ideas into action,”Sarpanch Joseph sequeira said .

“Our aim is to make Calangute a model village for sustainable development in Goa.” The NPP framework encourages villages to go beyond sustainability and create net positive impacts on environment, economy, and society.
