60-year-old dies after assault by group at Chicalim; two accused arrested, two absconding

Vasco  June 25 – A 60-year-old man who was brutally assaulted by 4 persons at Mansiwada, Chicalim, on Wednesday evening succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC). Colvale Police have registered a murder case and arrest two accused – one from Nadora and other from Chicalim, while two others are absconding.The deceased has been identified as Krishna (Shango) Naik. The accused group which was returning from Sanjao festival entered into altercation with the deceased, near his residence. They assaulted him and those who came to his rescue with sticks and blows. Krishna was rushed to GMC, where he succumbed to his injuries. The accused arrested by Colvale police have been identified as Christopher and Pratik.
