Goa Cong seeks criminal case against 5 cops over custodial abuse claims
PANAJI: (Jun 22) The Goa Congress on Monday demanded a criminal case against five policemen allegedly involved in the custodial abuse of four persons, including a minor, claiming that they were forced to perform sexual acts inside a police station.

Talking to reporters, state Congress spokesperson Amit Palekar said that the incident took place at the Maina-Curtorim police station in South Goa on June 6 when three persons were arrested and a minor detained following a clash between two groups.

He pointed out that while the police department has suspended sub-inspectors Sanket Naik and Gaurav Naik, and constables Chetan Koli, Samir Sudhir and Pundalik Parit, holding them responsible for the incident, during their meeting with the DGP, the party has sought a criminal case against them as one of the victims was a minor
