CM Sawant Inaugurates ‘Sahakar Seva Bhavan’, New Office of Registrar of Cooperatives at Merces
Panaji: – Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated ‘Sahakar Seva Bhavan’, the new head office of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, at Merces on Wednesday.The modern office building is set to serve as the central administrative hub for Goa’s cooperative sector. It will house the Registrar’s office and streamline services for thousands of cooperative societies and their members across the state.Speaking at the event, CM Sawant said the facility will function as a single-window system for cooperative-related administration, registration, and grievance redressal, making processes faster and more accessible for stakeholders.
Cooperation Minister Subhash Shirodkar, St. Cruz MLA Rodolfo Fernandes, and senior officials from the Department of Cooperation were present for the inauguration.
Goa’s cooperative sector plays a key role in sectors like credit, housing, dairy, and fisheries. Officials noted that the new building will improve efficiency in record-keeping, inspections, and member services.
