Mapusa – A full-scale mock drill simulating a terrorist attack was conducted near St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa at 10:43 HRS on Tuesday to test emergency response preparedness.
The exercise, coordinated by Mapusa Fire Station, saw fire personnel responding swiftly to the simulated incident. Dnyaneshwar Sawant, Sub Officer, Mapusa Fire Station, led the fire service team during the drill and supervised evacuation and rescue operations.
Authorities stated the drill was conducted to assess coordination between emergency services and to create awareness among students and local residents about safety protocols during terror threats. No actual emergency was reported.
Officials urged the public not to panic as the exercise was pre-planned and part of routine disaster preparedness training.
