*Kamlakar Humraskar Demands Speed Governors in Trucks to Curb Rising Accidents at Dhargal*
Dhargal, Pernem: Expressing concern over the increasing number of road accidents in the Dhargal area, Shri Kamlakar M. Humraskar, People’s Candidate for the 02 Pernem Assembly Constituency, has urged the concerned authorities to take immediate measures to improve road safety.
Humraskar stated that speed governors should be made mandatory for trucks transporting sand, crushed stone, gravel, and other minerals, enabling drivers to maintain better control over their vehicles and helping to reduce accidents.
He further alleged that some truck drivers operate vehicles under the influence of alcohol and often drive recklessly, leading to loss of control and posing a serious threat to other road users. He also highlighted the severe traffic congestion on the Dhargal road, which makes it difficult for motorists to navigate safely.
Pointing to the shortage of traffic police personnel in the area, Humraskar said the absence of adequate traffic regulation further increases the risk of accidents. He called upon the authorities to strengthen traffic enforcement, deploy more traffic police, and ensure strict compliance with road safety regulations.
“The concerned authorities must take immediate action by mandating speed governors in trucks and implementing effective traffic management measures to prevent further loss of lives on the Dhargal road,” Humraskar said.
