Mapusa MLA Inspects Monsoon Preparedness Works in Cunchelim Wards
Mapusa, Goa – Mapusa MLA conducted a ward visit in Cunchelim to review ongoing monsoon preparedness works in Ward 1, Ward 2, Ward 4, and connecting roads, with focus on drainage, water flow, and flood mitigation ahead of the monsoon season.
The inspection was part of a mid-season review of monsoon-related works in areas that witnessed water accumulation in previous years. Officials assessed the strengthening of drainage systems and related works in low-lying areas of Cunchelim to improve water flow and reduce waterlogging.While several works have been completed, nallah cleaning and desilting near the Ganpati Visarjan site are currently underway.
The MLA directed officials to expedite pending works to ensure smooth runoff during heavy rains.Discussions were also held with local residents to understand ground-level concerns regarding waterlogging and garbage collection. The MLA stressed the need for coordinated action to address civic issues effectively before peak monsoon
.Present during the inspection were officials from PWD and WRD, municipality representatives, former councillors, booth committee members, and local representatives.
