Madgaon-Karwar Express launched; to enhance travel and trade between Goa and Karnataka

PANAJI: June 11 Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, V Somanna, on Thursday flagged off the Madgaon-Karwar Express service from Madgaon station, strengthening rail connectivity between Goa and the coastal districts of Karnataka, officials said.

The new train service is expected to provide a convenient, affordable and efficient travel option for commuters, students, tourists and business travellers, while further promoting tourism, trade and socio-economic development across the region, they said.

Addressing a gathering at Madgao railway station, Somanna said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Indian Railways has witnessed “unprecedented modernisation and expansion aimed at improving connectivity and enhancing passenger experience”.
