*Social Worker Kamlakar Humraskar Demands Full-Time Traffic Inspector for Pernem and Additional Personnel at Dhargal
Pernem: Pernem social worker Kamlakar M. Humraskar has submitted a representation to the Superintendent of Police (Traffic), Goa, seeking the appointment of a full-time Police Inspector at the Pernem Traffic Cell and the immediate deployment of additional traffic personnel at the busy Dhargal Don Khamb Junction.
In his letter dated June 8, 2026, Humraskar highlighted the severe traffic congestion being witnessed at the junction due to the ongoing flyover construction work. He stated that commuters are facing daily delays and traffic bottlenecks, while the shortage of traffic police personnel has further worsened the situation.
Humraskar pointed out that the heavy flow of vehicles through the stretch has led to frequent traffic jams, causing inconvenience to local residents, office-goers, students, tourists, and other road users. He also expressed concern over the increased risk of road accidents due to inadequate traffic management.
He urged the Traffic Department to appoint a full-time Traffic Police Inspector for Pernem, deploy additional personnel at Dhargal Don Khamb Junction during the construction period, and implement suitable traffic management measures to ensure smoother vehicular movement and enhanced road safety.
Humraskar expressed hope that the authorities would take urgent action in the larger interest of public convenience and safety.
