Calangute Panchayat to Begin ₹20 Lakh Fish Market Roof Repair Work
Calangute: The Calangute Village Panchayat will soon commence repair work on the roof of the fish market located opposite the vegetable market at Naika Vaddo, Calangute. The project involves providing and fixing colour-coated aluminium PUF sandwich panel roofing sheets to improve the market’s infrastructure and ensure better facilities for vendors and customers.
The work, estimated at a cost of ₹20 lakh, will be undertaken by the Calangute Panchayat as part of its commitment to upgrading public amenities.
Sarpanch Joseph Sequeira has appealed to fish vendors, shopkeepers, and the general public to extend their cooperation during the execution of the project and to maintain cleanliness in and around the market premises. He stressed that a clean and hygienic market environment benefits both vendors and consumers.Upon completion, the new roofing is expected to provide enhanced protection from rain and heat, creating a more comfortable and safer marketplace for all.
