*CM Pramod Sawant Plants Sapling on World Environment Day Under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’*
*Patradevi-Torxem:* On the occasion of World Environment Day, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant planted a tree sapling under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative at Patradevi-Torxem National Highway on Monday.
He was joined by Mandrem MLA Jit Arolkar, Pernem MLA Pravin Arlekar, Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade and other dignitaries during the plantation drive.
The ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign encourages citizens to plant a tree in honour of their mother, linking environmental conservation with personal commitment. The drive aims to increase green cover along highways and promote ecological responsibility across the state.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of collective action in tackling climate change and urged people to make tree plantation a regular practice.
The saplings planted along the Patradevi-Torxem stretch are expected to strengthen roadside greenery and improve air quality in the area.
