GOAN SENIOR CITIZENS CELEBRATED WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY IN BHUTAN
Goan Senior Citizens today celebrated ‘World Environment Day’ by planting Mango Saplings
at 4265 feet above sea level on the bank of Wangdue river in Punatsangchhu Valley of Central Bhutan.
Ten Goan Senior Citizens are presently on seven days Bhutan Yatra through TIRTHATAN, the one and only organization from Goa which is organizing TIRTHA YATRA for Goan Senior Citizens.
After visiting various Buddhist & Hindu religious places in Thimphu, Punakha, Paro and other important places in Bhutan, today these Goan Senior Citizens reached in the Central part of Bhutan, where they celebrated World Environment Day on the bank of Wangde River in Punatsangchuu.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nitesh Naik from Porvorim appreciated Bhutanese people for their devoted and dedicated efforts in keeping safe their natural beauty due to which lakhus tourists from through out the world are coming to see and experience the unique natural beauty of Bhutan. He further started that we the Indians too need to contribute ourselves preserving nature like Bhutanese people.
On this occasion besides ten Goan Senior Citizens, Yadu Raj Gurung, D N Sharma, Sonam Zangmo
& zugyen Zangmo from Bhutan took part in the tree plantation program.
