Dry age old Tamarind Tree Falls near a temple Fire services Clears Debris, No Injuries Reported
Tivim: A dry tamarind tree collapsed on a toilet structure near Hanuman Temple at Volvonem, Tivim, around 11:59 hrs on Tuesday, prompting a swift response from the Mapusa Fire Station.
Leading Fire Fighter Shri Suraj Shetgaonkar and his team rushed to the site upon receiving the call. The Mapusa fire personnel cleared the fallen tree and secured the area. No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. The toilet structure sustained damage due to the impact. Locals said the tree was old and dry, and had become weak. Fire officials urged residents to report vulnerable trees near public structures to prevent such incidents, especially with changing weather conditions.
