Hotmixing Work Begins on Road Linking Two religious structures in Calangute

Calangute: Calangute MLA Michael Lobo on Wednesday inaugurated the hotmixing work of the road stretch from St. Anthony Chapel to St. Alex Church, Calangute, in the presence of local representatives and residents.

The work was inaugurated with ZP Member Franzilia Rodrigues, Sarpanch Joseph Sequeira, panch members, and ward members in attendance. Several local residents also joined the ceremony.

Speaking at the site, Lobo said the road upgrade was a long-pending demand of the people. “This stretch sees heavy traffic and connects two important religious sites. Hotmixing will ensure smoother rides, reduce dust, and improve safety for motorists and pedestrians,” he said.

ZP Member Franzilia Rodrigues said the work would benefit locals and tourists alike, especially during the monsoon when potholes pose a risk. Sarpanch Joseph Sequeira thanked the MLA for prioritizing the project and said the panchayat would monitor the quality of work. The hotmixing is expected to be completed soon, improving overall road conditions and connectivity in the Calangute village area.
