Goa governor extends Bakrid wishes to people
PANAJI: (May 27) Goa Governor P Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Wednesday greeted the people a day ahead of Eid-ul-Zuha or Bakrid, calling for renewed commitment to friendship and mutual understanding.
“The Eid-ul-Zuha, celebrated in the spirit of sacrifice, compassion and benevolence, is observed with deep devotion and enthusiasm across India and around the world.
“This sacred occasion, also known as the ‘Festival of Sacrifice’, inspires us to uphold the timeless values of faith, charity, selflessness and humanity. It also reminds us that all religions advocate the universal ideals of love, peace, compassion, harmony and brotherhood,” the governor stated.
