Jobs for Outsiders, Not Goans’: Humraskar Slams Govt Over Pernem Unemployment
Pernem: People’s Candidate Kamlakar Humraskar has questioned the state government over persistent unemployment in Pernem constituency, despite major projects like Mopa Airport and the Ayush Hospital coming up in the area.“Unemployment remains one of the biggest issues in Pernem. For years, no one has taken a keen interest in solving it. We have seen big projects like Mopa Airport and Ayush Hospital, yet our youth are still not getting jobs there,” Humraskar said.Targeting the government’s promise of creating 22,000 jobs, he asked, “Why are jobs created only during election time? Where was the government for the last 15 years? Is this just a political stunt?”Humraskar alleged that in sectors like hospitality, Ayush Hospital, and Mopa Airport, most employees were outsiders and not Goans. “Pernem has elected a Deputy Chief Minister, MLAs and Ministers for years, but no one has solved this issue. Everyone makes promises, but no one works sincerely for the youth,” he said.If elected in the upcoming Assembly elections, Humraskar said he would work to bring IT projects, industries, and other employment-generating ventures to Pernem. “I will ensure job opportunities are given priority to local youth,” he added.
