Will contest 2027 polls on RGP ticket itself asserts Viresh

Digital Goa, May 25 – RGP MLA Viresh Borkar on Monday asserted that he remains committed to the Revolutionary Goans Party and will contest the 2027 Assembly elections on the party’s ticket. Claims of him switching to Congress are rumours, he said. Addressing the media, Borkar said he would soon visit the RGP office to hear the concerns of party office-bearers and present his own side of the issue over the rift in the party. Describing the ongoing developments within the party as matters of internal democracy, he said he would first hold discussions with party members before making any detailed public statement over the issue. Borkar said he had been out of station due to medical reasons. When asked about the resignation of RGP president Manoj Parab and the current status of their association, Viresh said, “Manoj is in my heart.”

Accusing the government of hurriedly adjourning the budget session and denying elected representatives their rights to debate important issues in the Assembly, Viresh sought reconvening of the state legislative assembly. He said legislators would write to the Speaker requesting that the Assembly be reconvened so that important pending bills which are in the interest of Goa and Goans could be taken up for discussion in the House
