Colva: May 25 – A drunken argument between trawler workers allegedly turned into a murder at Mobor Beach in South Goa, leaving a 27-year-old labourer dead after he was allegedly attacked with a glass bottle. Police identified the deceased as Shashi Lakra, a native of Chhattisgarh, who was working on a trawler that had been brought from Betul to Mobor for repairs.
According to police, the incident occurred near the Mobor beach area, where Lakra was found dead with a fatal neck injury allegedly caused by a broken glass bottle. Colva Police have arrested three co-workers in connection with the case – Sanjay Manjhi, Ashish Kumar and Jagnandan Sidar, all natives of Chhattisgarh. Police said the accused and the deceased were allegedly under the influence of alcohol when an argument broke out, which escalated into the fatal assault.
