One arrested by Porvorim Police from Patna in HDFC fraud case.
PORVORIM: Porvorim Police have arrested a native of Bihar in relationship to fraud committed with HDFC bank at Porvorim.
It maybe recalled that some unknown persons had used forged letter heads and cheques of a company styled as “Emporium Automobiles” having account in HDFC Bank, Porvorim and cheated the account holder to the tune of Rs 28,50,000.
Accordingly Porvorim Police had registered an offence under section 318(4), 319(2), 336(3) and 340(2) of BNS, 2023.
During the course of investigation latest cyber tools of Goa Police were utilised and one of the accused was found to be from Patna, Bihar.
Accordingly a team comprising of PSI Mr Sitaram Malik, constables Mr Bhikaji Parab, Mr Hemant Gaonkar and Mr Siddhesh Naik proceeded to Patna and with the assistance of local police nabbed the accused.
Accused is identified as Mr Abhay Kumar Yadav, age 25 yrs r/o Daniyawan, Patna, Bihar and has been brought to Goa on a transit remand and 5 days police custody has been granted. Involvement of more accused persons is also suspected and investigation is in progress.
It also to be noted that Goa Police with the help of latest tools of Cyber, able to freeze an amount of about Rs. 14,00,000 approximately in different accounts.
Further investigation is in progress under the direct supervision of SP North Mr Harishchandra Madkaikar, SDPO Vishwesh Karpe with Police Inspector, Mr Tukaram V Chavan.
