SANKHALI, May 22, 2026 — Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Thursday interacted directly with citizens from across the State at Ravindra Bhavan, Sankhali, taking up their grievances and concerns for redressal. People from various constituencies queued up to meet the Chief Minister, raising issues related to land, water supply, electricity, pensions, health services, and infrastructure. CM Sawant heard each representation and directed officials present to initiate timely action and follow-up.“The purpose of this interaction is to bridge the gap between the government and the people. Every genuine concern will be addressed on priority,” Dr. Sawant said while speaking to citizens. He instructed department officials to prepare action-taken reports and ensure that petitioners are updated on the status of their applications.
Senior officials from key departments including Revenue, PWD, Health, and Social Welfare were present to note down complaints and provide on-the-spot clarifications.
Several citizens who attended said the initiative gave them direct access to the administration without having to travel to the Secretariat at Porvorim.
The Chief Minister reiterated that such public interactions will be held regularly to strengthen accountability and speed up delivery of services.
Local panchayat members and residents from Bicholim taluka were among those who turned up in large numbers. Officials said over 200 representations were received during the session, with a majority related to basic civic amenities and individual welfare schemes.
