HOUSE GUTTED IN NIGHT FIRE AT NACHINOLA; MAPUSA FIRE TEAM AVERTS MAJOR MISHAP
Mapusa: A house near Ganpati temple at Nachinola, Bardez was gutted after it caught fire at around 8:55 pm on Friday night, triggering panic in the locality.
Fire personnel from Mapusa Fire Station, led by LFF Shri Suraj S Shetgaonkar, rushed to the spot with a fire tender and brought the blaze under control within minutes, preventing it from spreading to nearby houses.
While the official panchanama is awaited, initial reports indicate the fire may have severely damaged the roof, household furniture, and electrical fittings.
Parts of the structure, including wooden beams and household items, are believed to be charred. Though the exact cause is under investigation, such house fires at night are often linked to electrical short circuits, unattended lamps or candles, or LPG leaks.
The fire department is examining all angles.No casualties or injuries were reported as the occupants managed to evacuate in time. Firefighters carried out cooling operations to prevent re-ignition.
