MAPUSA MARKET GETS OVERNIGHT HOTMIX FACELIFT; MLA PUSHES FOR SMOOTHER, SAFER ROAD

Mapusa: Hotmixing work was carried out overnight in Mapusa Market to improve road conditions and ease movement in one of the town’s busiest commercial areas.

The work, initiated by Mapusa MLA, aims to strengthen road infrastructure and ensure safer, more convenient travel for commuters, vendors, and shoppers who use the market daily. The stretch had developed potholes and uneven patches due to heavy vehicle movement and recent utility works.To avoid inconvenience to traders and the public, the hotmixing was scheduled at night when market activity is minimal.

Crews laid fresh asphalt to level the surface and improve grip for vehicles and pedestrians.“The ongoing works are meant to upgrade market roads and reduce traffic snarls. We request the cooperation of all Mhapsekars for the smooth and timely completion of the works,” the MLA said

.Mapusa Market sees thousands of footfalls daily, including farmers, vegetable vendors, and customers from Bardez and beyond. Improved road surface is expected to cut dust, reduce vehicle damage, and make loading-unloading easier for traders.

Traffic police and MMC staff were deployed to assist with diversions and ensure work progressed without incident.
