BUSH FIRE NEAR BYKE PEARL HOTEL IN ANJUNA DOUSED BY MAPUSA FIRE SERVICE TEAM
ANJUNA: A fire broke out in bushes near Bike Pearl Hotel at Grand Chivar, Anjuna, on Wednesday afternoon, prompting a quick response from the Mapusa Fire Station.The incident was reported at 15:25 hrs. Fire personnel led by Firefighter Shri Vishnu R. Naik rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures.According to officials, dry vegetation in the area caught fire, likely due to the prevailing heat and dry conditions.
The fire was confined to bushes and no damage to property was reported. No injuries were reported.With summer temperatures rising and vegetation turning dry, fire officials have cautioned residents against dumping burning waste or cigarettes in open areas. “Quick reporting helped us contain it in time. Bush fires can spread fast, especially near hotels and residential pockets,” said a fire official.The Grand Chivar stretch in Anjuna has several hotels, guest houses, and commercial establishments. Timely action by the Mapusa fire team averted what could have been a bigger incident given the proximity to built-up areas.A panchanama was conducted. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
