EARLY MORNING BLAZE AT MAPUSA’S GANESH BAKERY DOUSED; MAJOR MISHAP AVERTED

MAPUSA: An early morning fire broke out at Ganesh Bakery in the busy market area of Mapusa on Friday triggering panic among nearby vendors. Swift action by the Fire and Emergency Services averted a major mishap.According to officials, the fire was reported around dawn when the market was largely empty. Fire tenders from the Mapusa fire station rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control before it could spread to adjoining shops and stalls.Thick smoke was seen billowing from the premises as firefighters began operations. The congested market layout and proximity to other commercial establishments had raised fears of the fire escalating, but timely intervention contained it to the bakery.

No injuries have been reported so far. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and the exact extent of damage and losses is still being estimated. Locals said a bigger tragedy was avoided as the market gets crowded soon after sunrise.
