Panaji: The Goa Football Development Council (GFDC), in collaboration with St Anne’s Institute, Agonda, held a football summer camp at Agonda.
Present at the closing ceremony were GFDC Member Secretary Fransquinha Oliveira, PTA Chairperson Abel Borges, Coaches Gilbert Fernandes, Zenifa Pedroso, Headmaster Cedrico Montero, PE Teacher Angelo Silva coaches, staff, and other dignitaries.
In her address, Oliveira said that initiatives like these play a crucial role in nurturing young players, giving them the right platform to explore their skills, build confidence, and understand the discipline required in sport.
“At the same time, it provides coaches an excellent opportunity to identify and guide hidden talents towards a brighter footballing future. GFDC is proud to associate with such initiatives, and we appreciate the continued efforts in organising similar camps in the past. Consistent on-ground football is the key to building a strong footballing foundation in Goa,” she said.
Urging the young trainees to keep working hard, stay disciplined, and enjoy the game, she said, “Football is not just about winning; it is about learning, growing, and building character. Let us continue to work together to strengthen grassroots football and take Goa’s football legacy to greater heights.”
