Valpoi Municipal Council PUT UP WARNING SIGNS AT VULNERABLE SPOTS AHEAD OF MONSOON
VALPOI: Village panchayats and the Valpoi Municipal Council have put up sign boards at vulnerable locations across Sattari taluka as part of monsoon preparedness measures.
The action follows directions issued by the Deputy Collector, Sattari, during a recent review meeting on monsoon readiness. Officials said the sign boards are aimed at ensuring public safety by alerting residents and visitors to avoid risk-prone areas during heavy rains.
Areas marked include low-lying stretches, landslide-prone slopes, waterlogging points, and spots near swollen streams that pose danger in the monsoon.Authorities have appealed to the public to stay cautious, avoid venturing into marked vulnerable zones, and follow safety advisories issued by the local administration.
The Deputy Collector had instructed all panchayats and the VMC to identify critical spots and complete safety measures before the onset of the monsoon. Further monitoring and on-ground checks will continue through the season, officials added.
