BJP’s Bengal performance due to PM, Shah, party workers: Goa leader
PANAJI: (May 4) The BJP’s stellar showing in West Bengal must be attributed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah as well as workers and supporters, the party’s Goa unit chief Damodar Naik said on Monday.
The BJP, with leads in 194 out of 294 seats, was on course to unseat the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government in the eastern state, where assembly poll votes are being counted.
“The victory is a culmination of attempts by the party to gain strength in the West Bengal. The absolute majority in West Bengal should be credited to PM Modi, Union Home minister Amit Shah and the party cadres who worked overtime,” Naik said.
