Panaji, May 2, 2026: Highlighting the growing importance of continuous medical education in healthcare, the 1st Continuing Medical Education (CME) – Academic Meet 2026 was held at the Auditorium of Sai Nursing Institute (SNI), Sankhali. The programme brought together radiology professionals, students, and experts for a day of focused academic exchange.

The programme witnessed participation from leading institutions and professionals, highlighting strong national collaboration in the field of radiological sciences. The meet provided a platform for discussions on emerging trends, advancements, and best practices in radiology, reinforcing the importance of continuous medical education in the healthcare sector.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant stated that participation from leading institutions reflects strong national collaboration in radiological sciences and positions Goa as a growing hub for allied healthcare education. He highlighted the role of the Indian Society of Radiographers and Technologists (ISRT) in promoting continuous medical education, professional standards, and radiation safety. He also emphasised the importance of the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions Act, 2021 in strengthening allied healthcare professions.

CM Dr. Sawant further stressed the importance of patient safety and encouraged students to focus on research, skill development, and ethical practices. He congratulated the organisers and noted that such initiatives will help make Goa a leader in healthcare education and services.

The programme provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, professional interaction, and skill enhancement, contributing to the overall development of the radiology and allied healthcare sector.

The programme was attended by Shri Pandurang Kurtikar, Chairman, and Shri Chinmay P. Gadgil, Principal, Sai Nursing Institute, along with faculty members, professionals, and students.
