20 Workers Honoured, five New Schemes Launched by chief minister on  Labour day

Panaji: chief minister Dr Pramod Sawant attended the LabourDay celebrations organized by the Office of the Commissioner, Labour and Employment, Government of Goa at Zuari Hall, Lok Bhavan, Dona Paula.

On the occasion, Chief Minister presented the prestigious “Shram Gaurav – Shramik Mitra” Award 2026 to 20 industrial workers. The awards recognises individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, sincerity, and outstanding service in their respective fields.

Chief Minister announced five new welfare schemes for workers, including a Digital literacy programme for workers, an Elderly medical care allowance, Financial assistance for competitive exam coaching, Reimbursement of tuition fees for higher studies, and PMSBY premium coverage aimed at supporting the working class. Minister for labour Employment Commissioner for Labour & Employment  Rajesh S. Ajgaonkar & others were present on the occasion.
