Goa declares 6.27 crore sqmt area along Mandovi, Zuari rivers as eco-sensitive

PANAJI: (Apr 30) The Goa forest department on Thursday declared 6.27 crore square metres of land along the Mandovi and Zuari rivers as ‘ecologically sensitive’.

Once an area is declared as ecologically sensitive, the Town and Country Planning (TCP) department can not allow construction or commercial development there, said a forest department official.
