PANAJI: Goa Tourism has won international acclaim after being conferred the ‘Choice of the Year 2026’ award at the Kazakhstan International Tourism Fair (KITF) held in Almaty, Kazakhstan.The award recognises Goa’s standout destination showcase, high visitor engagement, and exceptional participation at one of Central Asia’s largest travel trade events.
The state’s pavilion drew attention for blending culture, heritage, and coastal charm, leaving a lasting impression on global travel operators and visitors.Officials said the Goa delegation highlighted the state’s diverse offerings beyond beaches — including festivals, hinterland tourism, wellness, and heritage circuits — as part of its ‘Regenerative Tourism’ vision.
Interactive displays, cultural elements, and B2B meetings helped position Goa as a year-round destination for emerging markets like Kazakhstan and the wider CIS region.The KITF award is seen as a boost to Goa’s efforts to diversify its international tourist base and tap new outbound markets.
