PVC Parra Storm into Melon Soccer Cup Final with 2-0 Win over Augustias sporting
MAPUSA: Hosts PVC Parra booked their place in the final of the 1st Melon Soccer Cup, supported by Village Panchayat Parra, with a well-deserved 2-0 victory over Augustias Sporting Club at Parra ground on Monday.
Veteran Shadab Shaikh gave PVC Parra the lead in the 15th minute, finishing off a beautiful cross from Parshuram to make it 1-0. Augustias SC had a golden opportunity to level terms in the 50th minute, but Raju shot wide with only the rival goalkeeper to beat. PVC Parra sealed the win in the dying minutes, with Myron Pacheco doubling the lead in the 60th minute through a neat placement off a through pass by Aniket Bhagat, making it 2-0.
Shadab Shaikh of PVC Parra was named man-of-the-match, with the award presented by PVC Parra President Franky Viegas and social worker Edwin Lobo.
