World Liver Day at Manipal Hospital Goa: Driving Awareness with Action and Care
Goa, April 20, 2026: Manipal Hospital Goa observed World Liver Day with a focused awareness initiative aimed at educating the community on the importance of liver health and preventive care. This year’s theme, “Solid Habits, Strong Liver,” reinforced the importance of consistent lifestyle choices in maintaining long-term liver health. The event brought together doctors, healthcare professionals, and members of the public to highlight the growing burden of liver-related diseases and the need for early intervention.
The hospital also introduced a dedicated Liver Day Health Check Package to encourage proactive screening. The package includes Liver Function Test, HBsAg (Rapid Test), HCV Rapid Test (Hepatitis C Virus Antibody), Ultrasound – Abdomen and Pelvis, and a Gastroenterology Consultation, enabling individuals to assess their liver health comprehensively.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Surendra Prasad, Hospital Director, said,

The clinical perspective was led by a team of specialists including Dr. Rohan Badave, Consultant – Medical Gastroenterology; Dr. Gaurish Borkar, Associate Consultant – Surgical Gastroenterologist; Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Senior Consultant – Surgical Oncology; and Dr. Jacob George, Consultant – Medical Oncology. The experts emphasized that many liver conditions are preventable and manageable if addressed early, urging individuals to adopt healthier lifestyles and undergo regular health check-ups.
