Goa Premier Division League (Final, Day 2) Kauthankar’s 241 Headlines Dempo’s Run Avalanche

Panaji: In the final of the Goa Premier Division League 2025-26, organised by the Goa Cricket Association, Dempo Cricket Club gained a massive upper hand over Chowgule Sports Club with a strong batting performance in the first innings. After declaring at 646 for 9, Chowgule ended Day 2 at 128 for 3 and is still trailing by 518 runs.

Dempo captain Snehal Kauthankar played a magnificent double-century, dominating the Chowgule bowlers. He scored 241 runs off 271 balls, smashing 35 boundaries. He received century support from Aman Dhoopar (124) and Jeevan Chittem (101), which helped Dempo post a huge total. Abhinav Tej Rana contributed a useful 70 runs. Late contributions from Mohit Yadav (28) and Kutbudin Jamadar (not out 20) helped the team reach 646.
For Chowgule, Darshan Misal, and Shubham Desai took three wickets each, while Shubham Tari picked up two. However, Dempo’s batsmen combined patience with aggression and kept full control over the bowlers.

Facing a huge total, Chowgule started cautiously. Gauresh Kambli fought a lone battle with an unbeaten 71. Swapnesh Naik scored 18, while Madhur Yadav added 10 runs. At the end of the day, Chowgule reached 128 for 3 and still faced the challenge of reducing a massive deficit.

In Dempo’s bowling, Abhinav Tej Rana claimed two wickets, while Mohit Yadav picked up one. Chowgule’s batsmen had to play carefully while chasing the big total. Two more days remain in this four-day final.
