South Goa Child Welfare Commitee Pledges Speedier Processes for a Brighter Future”

Quepem:As per the directions of the Central Adoption Resource Authority, a quarterly review meeting of the Child Welfare Committee was convened under the chairmanship Ms. Egna Cleetus, IAS, Collector & District Magistrate, South Goa, H/c Kushavati Districts.
The meeting was held in the presence of the Chairperson and Members of the CWC.
During the meeting, emphasis was laid on streamlining the adoption process, ensuring timely disposal of adoption cases and reducing pendency. Detailed discussions were held on strengthening coordination among key stakeholders including the Specialized Adoption Agency (Matruchhaya), District Child Protection Unit, Child Development Project Officer, and Sub-Divisional Police Officer, to facilitate efficient processing of cases in accordance with established guidelines. The directions issued by the Central Adoption Resource Authority were reiterated, particularly with regard to conducting regular quarterly reviews by District Magistrates, expediting the declaration of children legally free for adoption and ensuring strict adherence to timelines prescribed under the adoption regulations
