Goa CM Witnesses Signing of 7 MoUs to Boost Skill Development
Panaji: Chief Minister, Dr Pramod sawant witnessed the signing and exchange of seven MoUs of the Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (DSDE), Government of Goa at Mahalaxmi, Panaji. The initiative marks a significant step towards strengthening skill development programmes, promoting vocational education, and enhancing collaboration between government departments, educational institutions and industry partners.
key MoUs exchanged was a tripartite agreement between DSDE, Plan International (India Chapter) and Worship Design for the implementation of “The Birds and The Bees Talk” Life Skills Programme across 10 Government and 3 Private Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in Goa.
Another MoU was exchanged between DSDE and Vana Shrubs Pvt. Ltd. for conducting short-term training programmes in mushroom cultivation under the Chief Minister’s Kaushalya Path Scheme. The initiative will provide scientific and hands-on training in oyster mushroom cultivation, enabling participants to establish self-employment opportunities and promote sustainable and eco-friendly agricultural practices.
In addition, five MoUs were exchanged with key Government departments to strengthen inter-departmental coordination and expand learning opportunities. The collaboration with the Directorate of Education will facilitate Open Day visits to ITIs and outreach programmes in schools for students of Classes IX to XII, thereby creating awareness about vocational education and skill pathways.
The MoU with the Directorate of Higher Education will enable dual certification programmes under the Chief Minister’s Kaushalya Path Scheme, allowing students to pursue skill-based training alongside their academic education.
