6200+ benefit from Vedanta Sesa Goa’s Project Aarogya

World Health Day 2026 is observed to draw attention to health related issues of wider concern to the public the world over. With a strong emphasis on the ‘One Health’ approach, World Health Day 2026 highlights the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health.

Recognising the importance of well-being in fostering long term community progress, Vedanta Sesa Goa’s Project ‘Aarogya’ anchors its initiatives in the field of healthcare which include Mobile Health Units (MHUs), health camps, supporting government missions like TB Mukt Bharat, conducting awareness sessions and especially focusing on the health of girls and women.

In Goa, the MHUs along with the support extended to the CMCs, have ensured that rural community members receive medical advice and support in a timely manner. The MHUs in Bicholim, Amona & Navelim have created a dependable eco-system while bringing healthcare to the very doorstep of the community. Overall, in FY26, 6200+ community members benefitted from the company’s initiatives.

Expressing his thoughts on Project Aarogya, Mr Navin Jaju, CEO Sesa Goa, said “At Vedanta Sesa Goa, we believe that community health is the cornerstone of inclusive progress. Through Project Aarogya we are proudly partnering communities through initiatives such as Mobile Health Units, health camps, and awareness drives – each reflecting our deep commitment to nurturing healthier, stronger communities. Guided by Vedanta’s philosophy of #TransformingforGood, we reaffirm our commitment to ‘giving back’ meaningfully for the long-term progress of communities.”

The Company also organises health screenings, diabetes and blood pressure check-ups, awareness camps on cervical cancer, maternity & menstrual health. Vedanta Sesa Goa has made concerted efforts to educate girls and women on aspects of women’s health such as cervical cancer, menstrual hygiene and helping manage lifestyle ailments.

“Preventive health interventions such as diabetes & breast cancer screening are crucial in safeguarding long-term wellbeing. By collaborating with Vedanta Sesa Goa, we were able to extend essential healthcare services to community members, fostering awareness and encouraging proactive health management”, reflected Mrs Siddhi Kanesar (Health Officer, CHC Bicholim) who was associated with a health awareness session organised by the company.

Vedanta Sesa Goa, through the Sesa Employee Volunteer Activity, contributes to community welfare through activities such as blood donation. In FY26 over 800 units were donated by Sesa Goa employees.
