“Goa Cracks Down on Illegal Sand Mining: North Goa Collector Ankit Yadav Orders Tougher Action”
The North Goa Collector, Shri Ankit Yadav, IAS chaired a meeting with line departments including Deputy collectors, Mamlatdars, Mines, District police, coastal police and captain of ports to address the sand mining issues in the district.
Key directives were issued to flying squads to identify and take immediate action against unauthorized canoes stationed along river banks and strengthen enforcement including conducting surprise checks.
The Coastal Police and Captain of Ports were directed to coordinate and expedite the procurement of additional boats to enhance patrolling and maintain strict vigil across the district.
