Second-half turnaround helps Punjab edge Mohammedan

NEW DELHI: (Apr 3) Punjab FC came from behind with two quick goals early in the second half to defeat Mohammedan Sporting Club 2-1 in the Indian Super League here on Friday.

Nsungusi Jr Effiong (47′) and Dani Ramírez (52′) scored the goals for Punjab FC, while Lalremsanga Fanai (29′) found the back of the net for Mohammedan SC.

The victory saw Punjab FC climb to fifth in the standings with 11 points, while Mohammedan are yet to open their account.
