PANAJI: Yet another case has been registered against Soham Naik in relation to alleged Curchorem sexual scam or sexual assault case on Wednesday morning.
According to police investigating the case in the crime branch, the number of sexual assault cases climbed upto five till date against Soham Naik.
In the fresh case, the alleged accused Soham Naik established a relationship with her ( a -19 year- old female) from Curchorem on the pretext of marrying her and sexually assaulted her at several places on several occasions between July 2025 and March 9, 2026.
The victim girl also revealed to the police investigating the case that all the incidents and instances have been recorded on the mobile phones and later circulated on social media.
Based on the complaint, the police have registered the offence under relevant sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act.
The police have also attached his posh vehicle allegedly used while committing the crime.
Earlier, there were four casaes of rape, recoding, and videos of the cases came to the fore and the victim girls came forward to lodge the cases against the son of a local politician when police chief promised to hide their identity or promised to keep their names as top secret and punish the guilty.
It may be recalled that when the cases started pouring in at the Curchorem police stations, the chief minister, Dr Pramod Sawant handed over the cases to the Crime branch for proper investigation.
