“Goa Cracks Down on Illegal Bullfights:
Margao: A coordination meeting regarding incidents of Bullfights in South Goa District was chaired by Ms. Egna Cleetus, IAS, District Magistrate, South Goa and co-chaired by Shri Santosh Desai, Superintendent of Police (South), along with Shri Srinet Kothwale, Additional Collector-I, South Goa District.
The meeting was attended by the SDM of Salcete, Police Inspectors, and Mamlatdars of Salcete taluka. The meeting focused on strengthening inter-departmental coordination to curb illegal bullfight activities. Directions were issued to concerned Police Inspectors to initiate action against landowners where such events are being organized. Mamlatdars were instructed to furnish necessary details and inventory of landowners to support enforcement measures.
Further, in the event of any emergency or law and order situation arising from such incidents, Mamlatdars were advised to immediately contact the emergency helpline number 112 to ensure prompt police response and safeguard public safety.
