Meeting of the 144th National Working Committee and Madhya Pradesh Unit of the Indian Federation of working Journalists concludes
Madhya Pradesh: A historic and glorious chapter of journalism was created in Amarkantak, the holy land of Madhya Pradesh, the source of the Maa Narmada, when the two-day meeting of the 144th National Working Committee and Madhya Pradesh Unit of the Indian Federation of Labor Journalists (IFWJ) concluded on 28 and 29 March 2026 in a grand manner. About 350 journalists from different states of the country took part in this event and gave a strong message of journalistic unity.
The program started with lamp lighting, chanting and conch sound before the image of Maa Saraswati, which filled the entire atmosphere with spiritual energy. Pushparajgarh MLA Funde Lal Singh Marko was the chief guest of the event, Himandri Muni of Kalyan Seva Ashram was the special guest along with Amarkantak Nagar Parishad President Parvati Singh, BJP District President Anuppur Heera Singh Shyam along with many public representatives and senior journalists. The demand for journalist security law was supported In his address, MLA Funde Lal Singh Marko expressed seriousness about the safety, livelihood and health facilities of journalists and said that the demand for journalist safety law is completely justified. He assured that efforts will be made to fulfill these demands by reaching the Chief Minister of the state. Constantly fighting for the interests of journalists, I.F.W.J. I.F.W.J. K National President Awadhesh Bhargava in his presidential address reiterated the commitment of the organization and said that the federation has been continuously working for the rights and dignity of journalists. He made important proposals like formation of Media Council, Journalist Security Act, Health Security and Simplification of Pension Scheme, which were unanimously passed.
Emphasis on organizational expansion in the region Madhya Pradesh unit president Upendra Gautam said that the organization is expanding rapidly in the state and will work dedicatedly to provide benefits of government schemes to journalists. Referring to the historical background of the organisation, he said that the organization established in 1950 is the first registered trade union journalist organization of the country. Grand welcome and dignified event Rahul Singh Rana, in-charge of the organization in the program, gave a welcome speech and congratulated the journalists and office bearers from all over the country. Under his skillful leadership and guidance, the organization was very successful and well organized. The forum was moderated by Shyam Das Manikpuri. Historic welcome rally A grand vehicle rally was organized on the arrival of National President Awadhesh Bhargava and State President Upendra Gautam at Shahdol. Along with this, a historical atmosphere was created by fireworks, garlands and grand reception by journalists and local citizens at various places on the approach road from Shahdol to Amarkantak in Budhar, Dhanpuri, Amlai, Bargawan and Rajendragram. This national conference held in Amarkantak not only became a symbol of unity of journalists but also emerged as a strong voice for the rights, safety and dignity of journalists. This event will prove to be a milestone in the direction of positive change and strong organizational development in the field of journalism in the coming times.
